Hi
recently my bmw engine blew up.rather than scrap it i decided to buy a replacement engine,i spoke to one dealer of 2nd hand engines and agreed to buy for £750 with 3 months warranty, when it arrived at my local garage the mechanic said in 30 years he's never seen an engine stripped so bare. When i complained to the dealer he said it was stripped to make sure everything was checked to be in working order.I instructed my mechanic to rebuild this engine taking bits off my old engine to add to the new one, this cost me an additional £ 200 on top of the £400 quoted to fit .When the new engine was fitted oil poured out the Head as the engine was faulty. The dealer has agreed to send out a replacement engine but this will mean my mechanic will have to remove all the bits and engine plus hes got to do it all over again taking the labour cost to £1,200 all as a result of the faulty engine. The dealer has refused to pay anything towards these fitting costs.Have i got any rights under law to claim these costs back?
