Hello,
I am new to this forum, and just wanted to say what a fantastic source of information it is. Having read the posts about GM Group, and it phone sales activities, I just wanted to say something. I am a student presently reading economics, and like most students wanted to make a little extra money by doing some part time work. I answered an advertisment in the local newspaper for telesales agents that has been posted by GM Group Ltd.
On arriving for my interview, along with about 25 other people, we were given a short personal interview and then told a bit out who we would be working for and their policy about honesty when dealing with potential customers.
It was STRESSED big time that we should never lie and that all calls were recorded. Our line manager said that if anyone was cought "bending the truth" they would be dismissed Immediatly and escorted from the building.
We were given a script that had to be read and we could not say things like pretending we were calling from another company or stuff like that.
All the time calls are being made a supervisor was walking round and listening to our conversations and the whole operation was closely monitored.
I admit that in my first week three people did get sacked on the spot for saying things to customers that were not in the script, and everyone knew that if you did you would be out and no messing.
Sure there is a lot of pressure to perform, but I expected that but my experience of the company was that they were very serious about not misleading customers. We were even told that if we did and if the customer compained we could face criminal charges for Fraud.
I am sure that in any organisation there are a few bad apples, but my experience with GM Group was that they played the game by the rules.
Regards
Sapphire
